Okie Dust Tee
Okie Dust Tee
I’ve been needing some work shirts, so I decided to draw up a little cartoon and put it to print.
After being in the t-shirt industry for over a decade, I’ve come to appreciate a classic fitting, 100% cotton, heavy weight shirt. This is not a fashion fit, super soft, tri-blend.
When you first get this shirt, you’ll think to yourself, “Hot damn, this thing is made of sand paper!” Then you’ll put it in the wash on hot and dry it at hot with lots of other items that shouldn’t go in the wash together and it will shrink up about a half inch on each side. Then you’ll wear it for the first time and think to yourself, “Hot damn, is this shirt ever going to be soft?” Then you’ll put it in the wash for the second time with a full load of laundry that doesn’t go together, and you’ll dry it on hot because all your other clothes just get washed on heavy and dried with high heat anyway no matter what the label says. Then the second time you put this shirt on you’ll think to yourself, “Oh, this is the beginning of a really wonderful relationship.” Then this shirt will last a decade because it’s 100% cotton and weighs 6 ounces instead of 2 and a half ounces of poly-rayon-cotton blended nonsense that makes you feel like you’re wearing a plastic sandwich bag. You might even spill some paint on it or fall while you’re skating and it won’t rip because it’s as heavy as teflon. You’ll also be stoked because you only paid 15 dollars for it instead of 35, so even if it does get ripped, you can cut it into a half a dozen rags that will soak up oil and clean spilt paint like a champ (chump).
I’ll do some fancy shirts sometime in the future, but this is just a work shirt for now. If you buy one, I’ll throw in a bunch of stickers and be very appreciative for sure.
For size reference, I’m 5’9 and a buck and a half and I wear a medium.
